Welcome to Indiana Community Action Poverty Institute's Know Your Rights Center.

We often partner with community and grant making organizations to help Hoosiers realize their legal rights--starting with knowing them. Studies also show that while many marginalized identities, including women, people of color, people with disabilities, and low-income individuals feel uncomfortable interacting with the legal system, this is a perception that can shift based on interactions with legal services and community organizations.

As a community organization, we do not offer legal advice. We do, however, offer resources to those wishing to learn more about what rights they are entitled to, with the understanding that spreading such awareness does not constitute legal advice, which all individuals are advised to seek from other entities should they need it.

It requires all businesses with over 15 employees to provide reasonable accommodations for workers who are pregnant, nursing, or dealing with medical conditions related to pregnancy (including postpartum conditions), unless the business can prove such accommodations would cause them undue hardship.
